Notes from AP: C Josh Bard, a career .238 hitter through 2005, leads the Padres with a .368 average. "He's hit for us from Day 1 since we got him from Boston," manager Bruce Bochy said. "The opportunity has been there and he's made the most of it." ... Bochy said the team has no timetable for the return of 1B-OF Ryan Klesko (strained left shoulder). "He takes batting practice with us," Bochy said. "The throwing part is slowing him down." ... Bochy was teasing RHP Jake Peavy in the batting cage a day after hitting his second home run of the year. "Maybe I ought to be hitting you fifth," Bochy said.

We're still up over there at the moment. Keep posting to Ducksnorts.com for now. When it goes down we'll move over here.

Nice play by Gonzalez and Piazza there.
The Rockies broadcast just showed that Gonzalez is No. 1 in fielding percentage among first baseman. Not much he can't do right now.
Guess Piazza can a hit a little, too.

Grant is getting on the plate umpire for an inconsistent strike zone -- while the Rockies are pitching.
I'm listening to the Rockies broadcast on DirecTV. I find them to be the most unobtrusive I've heard all season. I don't know their names though.
Looks like we're back up at Ducksnorts.com. I'll close this one up and we can go home.
